Presentation of the NIVO® foundation ground screw

Equipped with a "harpoon" type point, the NIVO® foundation ground screw is designed to be pushed into loose soil.  It creates a perfectly stable structure intended to receive a cross-joist composed of beams and joists (e.g. beam 45 x 145 mm and joists 50 x 75 mm).

All of our screws are equipped with an "L-shaped" square, width adjustable by several centimetres to receive the structure's beams.

Average number of screws / m2: 1,5.

L-support

The NIVO® foundation ground screw is delivered with an "L"-type adjustable square on a 25 cm long threaded rod.

The diameter of the threaded rod is 16 mm.

The square is adjustable in width by several centimetres to receive the structure's beams.

Easy and quick implementation

With our foundation ground screw, you no longer have to wait for concrete to dry or deal with tedious and polluting handling operations to start your decking. Continue with construction of your small house or deck immediately after the installation of screws.

The high purchase price is compensated by quick installation and low impact in the field. It is quicker and therefore more economical.

Resistance test

Series of tests were conducted by a Cofrac-accredited laboratory to determine its resistance to compression in a mix of plant soil and slate fill, depending on its burial depth. 75 cm and 65 cm.

The NIVO® Foundation Ground Screw was tested according to French standard NF P 94-150-1 in A1-type fibrous-clay fill. [1]

Because of soil diversity, tests were conducted on "medium to not very compact fill" (measured by penetrometer probing - Qd index = 2.7 MPa[2]) in order to test NIVO® foundation ground screws under relatively unfavourable conditions and create applications that are as broad as possible.

Resistance test of the NIVO® foundation ground screw

Series of tests were conducted by a Cofrac-accredited laboratory on the NIVO foundation ground screw to determine its resistance to compression in a mix of plant soil and slate fill, depending on its burial depth: 75 cm and 65 cm.

The NIVO® Foundation Ground Screw was tested according to French Standard NF P 94-150-1 in A1-type fibrous-clay fill[1]

Because of soil diversity, tests were conducted on "medium to not very compact fill" (measured by penetrometer probing - Qd index = 2.7MPa[2]) in order to test NIVO® foundation ground screws under relatively unfavourable conditions and create applications  that are as broad as possible.

Static compression load tests of foundation ground screws thus demonstrated a resistance up to 900 kg before rupture for a 75 cm anchor (700 kg for 65 cm anchors).

These test conditions thus help define a nominal load of 450 kg for a foundation ground screw anchored at 75 cm in medium to not very compact fill. Correlated with the 150 kg/m² loads imposed by the Building Code ("Outdoor wooden decking") for type 1 decking, the NIVO® foundation ground screw is perfectly adapted for residential use of deck structures.

Fastening square sizes are designed in order to help you adopt the "double joisting" deck installation technique and to slightly reinforce the resistance of your decking.

Manual tool

The manual screwing tool is composed of an adjustable screwing bar, composed of a pre-drilled mast to adjust the height of the tightening bar during screwing (160 cm wide and 3 mm thick). Three bolts + nuts to join the tool on the screw (requires the presence of two people)

Adaptor for power bolter

A 41 mm diameter bushing adaptor was specifically developed for use of a 700 W minimum power bolter.  Three bolts + nuts to attach the adaptor on the screw, screwing is then conducted by one person (allow 5 min. of screwing time per screw).
